My portraits are deeply influenced by my Slavic heritage and the way it subtly lingers in the background of those who grow up away from the culture and families. Through my art, I aim to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable, much like the folklore that shaped my upbringing. It is in these stories, with their mix of darkness and wisdom, that I found solace as a child discovering my creative voice. My work reflects this duality, blending cultural heritage with personal exploration, inviting viewers to connect with both the unsettling and the comforting aspects of life.
